The possibility of matter conversion into antimatter was discussed only in Sci-Fi. However, the present picture of the Universe related to the issues of dark matter and matter-over-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe suggests that there exist baryon-violating processes which in principle could be strong enough to allow the neutron-antineutron conversion in controllable conditions.
